This will be my thirteenth year in education. I taught for eight years in the classroom-grades 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. I was in the Academic Facilitator role for four years working with students and teachers.

Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from University of North Carolina at Charlotte
Masters degree in Reading Education K-12 from Appalachian State University
Masters degree in School Administration from Western Carolina University
Why I became an educator
I have always loved to read. My love of reading allowed me to have a passion for teaching others to read. After working with students and teachers in the Academic Facilitator role I quickly realized I have the passion to lead in a larger capacity as an administrator.
Favorite Place in Catawba County
My favorite place in Catawba County is downtown Hickory. We like to walk around visiting the local shops as well as trying new restaurants. One of our favorite parks is close by-Glen Hilton Park. We like to walk on the boardwalk to see the animals and have picnics as a family.
Something Unique about Me
I am a Girl Scout Troop leader to 17 sweet girls, levels ranging from Daisies to Juniors!
